Why no storefront?

seem to like that we sit around an old farm table eating cake possibly hearing the hum of the clothes dryer. just like at where they might call home. Our one daughter at home helps me part-time during the busy summer months.  Working in Information Technology made me realize I work best for myself.  I worked in retail bakeries and knew what was involved with having a storefront, employees, taxes, license, business loans, vendors, etc...and I didn't want that.  Up until Jan. 2016, domestic kitchens were inspected by the Oregon Dept. of Agriculture. That law has changed and domestic (in-home) bakeries are no longer required to be licensed or inspected.  I disagree with this decision.  I like that clients are welcomed and can see that this is a clean environment abiding by food handling laws and ODA inspection laws.  Working out of our home allows for less overhead and more time to spend working on the details of your cake design.
