Why no storefront?

old farm table eating cake while they might hear the hum of the dryer.  Just like at where they might call home. Our children help me part-time during the busy summer months, from folding cake boxes to sculpting a figure. Working in a Information Technology career made me realize I work better for myself.  I worked in retail bakeries and knew what was involved with having a storefront, employees, taxes, license, business loans, vendors, etc...and I didn't want that.  Up until Jan. 2016, domestic kitchens were inspected by the Oregon Dept. of Agriculture. That law has changed and domestic (in-home) bakeries are no longer required to be licensed or inspected.  I disagree with this decision.  I like that clients are welcomed and can see that this is a clean environment abiding by food handling laws and ODA inspection laws.  Working out of our home allows for less overhead and more time to spend working on the details of your cake design.
